Billy Puckett, age 85, of Magee, Mississippi went home to be with the Lord on June 29, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born November 2, 1939 in Mississippi.
Billy was a man of deep faith, strong hands, and a quiet strength that spoke louder than words ever could. On August 30, 1975, he married the love of his life, Tina Mae Puckett. Together they shared 47 beautiful years of marriage, full of laughter, devotion, and the simple joys of everyday life, until her passing in 2022.
Billy was a devoted husband, a loving father, a proud grandfather, a loyal brother, and above all, a faithful servant of Jesus Christ. He was a proud member of Kennedy Springs Baptist Church. His love for his wife and his family was unwavering — they were the center of his world. He cherished every moment spent with them, whether it was a simple meal around the table, a Saturday afternoon in the garden, or just sitting side by side in quiet company. For Billy, loving and serving his family was one of the purest ways he lived out his faith.
Through his humility, kindness, and steady strength, he showed his family what it meant to live a life of purpose. He didn’t just teach his children and grandchildren how to build things with their hands — he taught them how to build a life rooted in love, integrity, and faith.
Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice knowing that Billy is now reunited with Tina — and standing in the presence of his Savior. No more pain, no more illness, no more missing her. Just peace, joy, and the fullness of eternal life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewy Chester Puckett and Betty Mae Puckett of Magee; his wife, Tina Mae “Tiny” Craft Puckett, his brothers, D.C. (Jimmy) Puckett of Magee, D.K. (Dennis) Puckett of Braxton, Denferd A. Puckett of Forest, and Bobby Puckett of Pearl; and his sisters, Eurnae Traxler of Monroe, Louisiana, and Lona Beatrice Little of Mize, Ferda M. Maddox of Magee and Betty Lou Ainsworth of Taylorsville.
He is survived by his only living sibling, Lyndell Herrington of Magee.
He is also survived by his son, Keith Edward Parker (Lisa); his daughter, Leigh Puckett Lawrence (Paul); and his cherished grandchildren: Alex Parker Crabbe (Johnathan), Joshua Parker, Shandi Stewart (Michael Roberson), Allyson Reid (Trey), Stuart Pitts (Taylor), Harley Pitts, Hailey Wallace (Alex), and Seth Lawrence.
He was also blessed with great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy: Madilynn Reid, Ainsley Schroder, Ann Harrison Pitts, Holstyn Roberson, Lewis Reid, and Colton Wallace.
