Billie Jean Berry, 83, gained her heavenly wings on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at Magee General Hospital. She was born on July 24, 1936, to her parents, the late Silas Monroe Crocker and Hattie Lee (Smith) Crocker in Belzona, MS.
Billie was a wonderful and loving daughter, wife, mother. She had many friends and never met a stranger. She was talented in many areas. She was a self employed business woman that owned the former M & M Bakery in downtown Magee. She was a lifelong resident of Simpson County and a lifetime member of Goodwater Baptist Church. At Goodwater, she was always actively involved in church activities. She served as Sunday school teacher, GA leader, Acteen leader, played the piano and organ for church services. She was also a member of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Silas Monroe and Hattie Lee Crocker; first husband of 40 years, Richard O. Berry, second husband of 16 years, Russell Adcock; daughter, Kay Mellius; brothers, William Crocker, Arthur Bell Crocker, Alfred Crocker and sister, Helen Andrews.
She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Boline, Dale Roberts (Rick), Shaween Hogg (Douglas), Rhoda Little (Dale); thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great grandchild. Also she leaves behind to cherish her memory, a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2020, at Goodwater Cemetery, at 10:00 am with Brother Jason Webb officiating. Interment will follow.
