Barbara Sanders Broadhead

Barbara Frances Sanders Broadhead, 83, looked up upon the face of her Savior Jesus when her faith was made sight, Sunday, March 22, 2026. She passed into her eternal rest from Strong River Villa Assisted Living in Mendenhall. Barbara was born in Magee on April 17, 1942, to Vondell Everett and Billie Sanders.

Barbara grew up in Hattiesburg and later moved with her family to Magee where she attended Magee High School, graduating in 1960. Barbara attended the University of Mississippi before marrying Rex Broadhead, Jr., on July 8, 1961. She became a devoted homemaker, wife, and mother, pouring herself into the spiritual formation and development of her four beloved children, Stacy, Delwyn, Beth, and Bill. Barbara had an unquenchable thirst for God‘s Word and was a diligent student of the Bible, taking seminary classes from multiple institutions. She taught Explorers Bible Study in Mendenhall and contributed to the spiritual discipleship of countless women in Simpson County and beyond. Barbara taught many Bible studies and classes all throughout her life and shared her wealth of Biblical knowledge with all who knew her. She especially loved the teachings of Kay Arthur and Charles Stanley and went on trips to the Holy Land with both of them. She was a devoted Sunday school teacher and faithful member of First Baptist Church, Mendenhall. Her Christ-like character and godly wisdom will live on through her loving family.

Barbara is survived by her four children, Stacy (Debbie) Broadhead, Delwyn (Steve) Pruett, Beth (Michael) Womack, and Bill (Amanda) Broadhead; nine grandchildren, Lindsey Walker, Rex Broadhead IV, Paul Munn, Kyle Munn, Bob Pruett, Jacob Pruett, Maegan Womack, Alex Broadhead, and Bella Broadhead. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, her beloved brother, Jerry Sanders, and many nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by her loving husband, Rex, Jr., and her parents, Vondell and Billie Sanders.
