MC-MVAC Historical Society Announces Alysan Durr as 2026 Miss Juneteenth

The MC-MVAC Historical Society is pleased to announce the selection of Alysan Durr as the 2026 Miss Juneteenth.

Alysan is a student at Mendenhall High School and is the daughter of Sandrena Durr of Mendenhall, Mississippi. As Miss Juneteenth, Alysan will serve as a representative of the rich history, culture, and significance of the Juneteenth celebration while promoting community engagement and pride.

The MC-MVAC Historical Society is honored to recognize Alysan for this distinguished role and looks forward to sharing more about her accomplishments, interests, and future aspirations.

Community members are invited to join Alysan and other participants during the Juneteenth Parade and Festivities on Saturday, June 20, 2026. The parade will begin at 2:00 p.m. near the old Magee Elementary School, followed by a day of celebration, fellowship, and activities commemorating the history and legacy of Juneteenth at Marvin Jackson Park in Magee.
