The Scriptural passage is found in Psalm 139:9-10: “If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the seas, even there Your hand will guide me; Your right hand will hold me fast.” The psalmist feels the calm assurance that God will be with him wherever he finds himself. Upon arising, his God is there to buffet and assist him. If he travels to the ends of the earth, he knows that God will never leave him or forsake him. Because God has no beginning or end, we, too, can have that same calm assurance that God will be with us and guide our steps if we but put our total trust in Him. On this promise, we can rely. Thank you, Jesus!
The caption shown appeared in our church bulletin yesterday, and I felt it so very timely–a gentle reminder to the Christian. We need never fear fear about tomorrow, because God is already there to welcome us with loving arms. “Many things about tomorrow I don’t seem to understand, but I know Who holds tomorrow, and I know Who holds my hand.” I love the old gospel song, “I Know Who Holds Tomorrow.” We sang it at church yesterday morning.
Happy Monday! Have a wonderful day.
