The passage of Scripture chosen for today is found in Isaiah 40:29: “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.” Isaiah, prophet of old and spokesman for God to the Jewish people, was constantly telling the one and all to stand strong and be resolute in their convictions, because God would be with them, ready to defend and protect them, but He expected their loyalty and obedience. When they did not, they could expect punishment, because God was, first of all, their Father. What a lesson for us today! We must trust God and obey Him while subjecting our will to His. By doing so, God will give us strength and power to overcome all obstacles. “Trust and obey, for there’s no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.” Amen!
