According for a spokes person for the Simpson County Sheriff’s Office, the Sheriff and the Magee Police Department encountered a chase Sunday morning, February 17, 2019, at approximately 10:00 AM beginning on Coats Road and ending on New Hope Road.

The vehicle was driven by a black male with a female passenger. The high speed chase ended when the vehicle driven by the black male rammed the Simpson County Sheriff office vehicle at least twice. During the pursuit, the female passages exited the car while in motion.

After hitting the patrol car the male exited the car and ran into the woods where he was captured by local law enforcement.
