William Lloyd Sanders, 87 of Mendenhall, MS passed away Tuesday, March 01, 2022 at the Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. He was born Sunday, November 04, 1934 in Arm, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 04, 2022 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall, 3077 Simpson Hwy 13, Mendenhall. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 05, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Macedonia Baptist Church in Mendenhall. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Bro. David Jagar and Bro. Gene Erwin will officiate. Special music will be provided by Luther Boggan. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements. 601-847-4401

 Mr. Sanders (Papa) was a loving husband, father, brother, friend, and mentor to many. He loved his Lord, family, friends, and dogs. He was a lifelong member of Macedonia Baptist Church where he served as deacon for 59 years. He taught Sunday School until he was eighty years old. He served as a Gideon and a member of the Mississippi Baptist Disaster Relief Organization.  He served in the military from 1954-1956. He was an avid outdoorsman, gardener, and woodworker.  One of his greatest joys was being a member of the 1953-1954 Mendenhall Tiger Little Dixie Championship Team and the group has remained close.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Leon and Ola Mae Walker Sanders;  brothers, Charlie  Walker  Sanders and Jerry Sanders; sisters, Jimmie Lee Sanders Donnell and Vivian Sanders Martin; step-mother, Helen Blackwell Sanders.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years,

Madge Lee Sanders of Mendenhall; sons, William Anthony  Sanders (Carla) of Mendenhall, Lloyd  Michael Sanders of Mendenhall, and Stanley Lee  Sanders (Joy) of Clinton;  grandchildren, Brook Sanders (Kelli) of Sumrall, Patrick Sanders (Deia) of Mendenhall; Kristen Harwell (Bo) of Jackson, Andrew Sanders (Jenny) of Gluckstadt and Nancy Sanders of Los Angeles; brother, Ralph Sanders of Wiggins; sisters, Joyce  Blackwell  Croxton of Mendenhall and Katie  May Shows of Mendenhall;  great grandchildren, Madison, Trent, Aubrie Kate, Nyla, Piper, Parker, Ava,Sanders, Gracie and William Stanley.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Warren, Patrick Sanders, Bo Harwell, Brook Sanders, Andrew Sanders, and Trent Sanders.

Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons AG Weathersby, Don Wallace, Luther Boggan, Mike Pitts, and Will Blair.

Patrice is married to Greg Boykin and they have two sons, Bradley & Alex Boykin. Patrice is a lifetime resident of Simpson County. Patrice retired after 25 years in the Insurance industry where 23 of those years were with State Farm Insurance in Magee. She is very active in the community and has served in several leadership roles. Patrice has been a Secretary for the Magee Touchdown Club for 19 years and President of the MS Scholars of Simpson County. Patrice was a member of the Magee Adopt A School Program. She was elected to a term on the Simpson County School Board. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Magee Chamber of Commerce. She serves on the Keep Magee Beautiful Committee and is a member of the Advisory Committee for the Simpson County Technical Center. Patrice is a member of the Simpson County Republican Executive Committee. Multiple times, Patrice was named Parent of the Year for Magee Schools as well as District Parent of the Year for the Simpson County School District. Patrice & her family are members of New Hope Baptist Church.
