William Fred Adcock passed away at Forrest General hospital on Sunday, July 11, 2021, at the age of 88. He was born to William Ervin and Fannie A. (Matthews) Adcock on July 5, 1933, in Simpson County.
He came from a large family and was one of twenty-three children. His father made him stay home on his first day of 8th grade. After his father died, he joined the Army to serve in Korea and to help feed his family. Once he returned home, he was able to finish his education by getting his G.E.D. on the G.I. bill. He was a member of Teamsters Local 891 in Jackson, MS. He worked for and retired from West Bros. Motor Freight/Roadway Express for 30 years. He became a Master Mason in the Oak Hill Lodge #553 in Magee, MS. He was also a member of Wahabi Shriners and Scottish Rite Freemasonry Valley of Jackson – Orient of MS. He loved his family immensely and his memory will forever live in the hearts of his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Middleton) Adcock; son, William Joey Adcock (Sandy); daughters, Laura Teresa Adcock Williamson (Keith), Freda Carol Adcock Guzman; sister, Ollie Jean Adcock Barnett; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, twelve brothers and nine sisters.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at Tutor Funeral Home in Magee, MS on Sunday, July 18, 2021, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. The service will begin at 2:00 p.m. in Tutor Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Buddy Keys and Bro. Greg Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Sharon Cemetery.
