William Edward Carlisle, 77, passed away Monday, February 9, 2015.

He was born on February 8, 1938, in Texas, to parents Grady and Essie (Johnson) Carlisle.
Mr. Carlisle retired from the U.S. Attorney General’s Office and self-employed. He also served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a veteran of The Korean War.
Mr. Carlisle was survived by his wife, Sarah Jane Carlisle; one son, Steve (Lesle) Carlisle; four daughters, Janet (Bill) Kamp, Krickette (Logan) Baskin, Tammy (John) Carter and Vickie (Kevin) Morgan; sisters, LeVerne Ashcraft and Zelma (Bo) Burton; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ella McInroe and a brother, Grady Carlisle.
Visitation will be held at Tutor Funeral Home in Mendenhall on Thursday, February 12 from 12-1:30 pm with a 2:00 pm  graveside service following at Athens Cemetery in Mendenhall. Interment will follow. Rev. John Coleman will officiate.
