Brenda Duran White BSRN has been selected as the 2017-2018 Teacher of the Year for the Simpson County Technical Center.
Mrs. White received her degree in Nursing from the University of Southern Mississippi and spent the first few years of her career at Wesley Hospital (currently Merritt Hospital) in Hattiesburg. Her career would soon take her to Home Health Care for thirteen years and eventually to the Simpson County School District where she first began as a nurse at the elementary school level.
For the past ten years she has taught Health Science to students in grades ten through twelve at the Simpson County Technical Center.
Mrs. White is an active member of Corinth Baptist Church and is married to Tim White. She is the mother of Taylor and Eli Duran and Chloe and Taylor White. Mrs. White believes in setting high standards for the students she serves and truly feels that helping students succeed is an honor and a privilege.
