If you are needing or renewing a driver’s license in Magee, take the day off from work because you will be there ALL day.

The officers handling the DL work are extremely nice…maybe a little slow…but ya’ll, there are a ton of people waiting.

I waited over 2 hours for my piece of plastic.

Crowds are at the Civic Center door @ 8 and @ 1.

The office closes from 12-1.

When you walk in the door, take a number off the ‘roll” near the door….and be ready to wait!

One lady sitting next to me, waited for 2 hrs and 45 minutes!

You can’t go on your break, lunch hour, or after school. Seriously, take a day off work or at least the morning or afternoon.

We need to lobby for one more day to issue license or the morning can be for renewals and the afternoon for driving, changes, test etc. There has to be a solution to this problem.

I’m just saying, plan ahead.

In my on case, I had to get additional documents and return after lunch. The officers told me when I came back, I would be taken immediately because the majority of my paper work had been completed. When I entered the civic center after lunch, almost every seat was taken. True to the officers word, she waved me on to the table. Mercy, I felt as if knives were being stuck in my back. Those people did not know I had been there earlier for 2 hours! I almost wanted to turn around and shout “I promise, I served my waiting time this morning.” But, I just headed out the door not looking left or right clutching that valuable piece of plastic!

I am thrilled we can obtain our license in Magee…but plan ahead!

We was there today for a permit and a road test, got there a little before they opened and got out a little after 11, the line had already formed ahead of us, but we didn’t mind the wait considering how much nicer they are more so than the Laurel office.
