By James Davis
The Scriptural passage for today is found in Luke 12:31: “Seek His kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.” The apostle tells early Christians and today’s followers of Jesus to seek Him first and His righteousness, and a bounty of blessings will be ours without the asking. We’re to keep our focus firmly fixed on Him through an active prayer life, the study of God’s Word, and good deeds directed toward our fellow man. Let us be active Christians as we move through this life. I’m reminded of a plaque my grandmother kept on the wall above her bed. It stated: “Only one life. ‘Twill soon be past. Only what’s done for Christ will last.” As I age, I’m convinced that what we do for Christ is the only thing we’ll take with us when we pass from this life into the next. Trust in God, be kind, share love, and remain joyful. Amen!
Happy Tuesday!
