Jackson, Miss.—A website created by a court-appointed receiver and aimed at providing information to defrauded investors in the multi-million dollar Ponzi scheme involving Arthur Lamar Adams and Madison Timber Properties, LLC, is now accessible at https://madisontimberreceiver.com/.

Potential investors also received letters this week from attorney Alysson L. Mills of Fishman Haygood, LLP, who was appointed receiver of Adams’ and Madison Timber’s estates by a federal court in June 2018, and from the Securities Division of the Secretary of State’s Office.  The Secretary of State’s Office is working cooperatively with Receiver Mills to solicit additional information from investors to aid in a timely recovery of funds and assets for the benefit of defrauded investors.

“One of the most important things investors can do right now is preserve financial records and documents.  This includes agreements, letters, e-mails, or checks, or anything else in writing relating to an investment in Madison Timber,” Secretary Hosemann said. “Our collective goal with Receiver Mills is to identify losses and gather assets of Mr. Adams and Madison Timber.”

The new website includes responses to frequently asked questions from investors, contact information, and official Receiver Reports.  The first Receiver Report is due to the federal court on August 21, 2018.

Court filings from the related federal criminal case United States v. Adams, No. 3:18-cr-00088 (S.D. Miss.) and federal civil case Securities and Exchange Commission vs. Adams, et al., No. 3:18-cv-00252 (S.D. Miss.) are also available on the website.  Receiver Mills’ work is independent from these cases.

For more information or to share information which may lead to the recovery of funds or assets, visit https://madisontimberreceiver.com/.  Other contact information for Receiver Mills is as follows:

  • Toll-free number: (833) 832-9400
  • Email: info@madisontimberreceiver.com
  • U.S. mail: Allyson Mills, Receiver; Fishman Haygood, LLP; 201 St. Charles Avenue, Suite 4600; New Orleans, Louisiana, 70170

For more information about the Secretary of State’s efforts, or to report an alleged State securities law violation, visit www.sos.ms.gov/securities or call (601) 359-1334.
