By James Davis
The Scriptural passage selected for today is 1 Thessalonians 4:1: “Finally, brothers, we instructed you how to live in order to please God, as in fact you are living. Now we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus to do this more and more.” The apostles wrote letters to and visited with the early churches of Asia Minor they’d help establish in order to offer encouragement and rules of proper conduct for the members. Those congregations faced many of the same problems Christians deal with today. To please God, we must always keep Him as our focus; then, we are to proceed in Christian love when interacting with our brothers and sisters in Christ by putting them and their welfare before our own.
Happy Monday! Enjoy the cooler temps this week.
