By James Davis
The Scriptural passage for today is found in Philippians 3:20-21: “Our citizenship is in Heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, Who, by the power that enables Him to bring everything under His control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like His glorious body.” The Word of God for the people of God; thanks be to God! Yes, the early Christians lived in high expectation of Christ’s return to earth during their lifetimes; however, as they learned, as have we, our concept of time is not God’s. As did the apostles of their day, our preachers of God’s Word today still assure us that Christ will one day return, and we will be caught up with Him in the air and will ever be with Him. Our bodies will be changed, and we will have glorified bodies like His. Yes, our citizenship is in Heaven, and so shall we ever be with the Lord. In the meantime, we are to wait patiently for Him. What a day that will be when we are united with God! Yes, sing along with me the chorus to that beloved gospel song: “What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see; when I look upon His face, the One, Who saved me by His grace. When He takes me by the hand and leads me through that Promised Land, what a day, glorious day, that will be!” Praise Jesus above! Lord, hasten the day!
Happy Sunday! For those who are able, please join others of like faith and persuasion for a time of worship and singing of praises to God. For those who cannot, tune in to one of the many t. v. or radio broadcasts available.
