The Scriptural passage selected for today is found in James 2:5: “Listen, my dear brothers: has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom He promised those who love Him?” Here is another of God’s promises of which James reminds the early Christians. It’s easy for us to forget what God has in store for those of us who have accepted Him and His gift of salvation. We are chosen; we are special in God’s sight; therefore, we need reminding often of the glories awaiting us once this life ends. Earthly wealth and fame are fleeting. They will not last. God’s promises, however, are permanent and fixed. On them, we can depend. Thank you, Jesus!
