The American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) has announced the recipients of its top awards for 2025.

Dr. David Weldon, dean of the William Carey University School of Pharmacy, received the 2025 AACP Rufus A. Lyman Award, which recognizes the best paper published in the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education during the previous year. The honor comes for a paper he co-authored titled, “A National Survey of Perceptions Around Conditions Associated with Pharmacy Faculty Workload Equity.”

“The Lyman Award Committee selects one paper a year that it feels will have a great impact on the field of pharmacy education,” Weldon said.

“I’m really honored and blessed to be part of a group of collaborators from across the nation who are passionate about workload issues and improving the outcomes for students. The award selection does not rely on a formal application or nomination process, so it’s even more special to me.”

AACP CEO Lee Vermeulen said he is proud to recognize outstanding achievements of this year’s award recipients, whose exceptional contributions to education, research, service and scholarly publishing inspire the next generation of pharmacists, educators, scholars and thought leaders.

Recipients will be honored in July at AACP’s annual meeting in Chicago, Illinois.
