Vera Maxine Austin, 86, of Pearl, Mississippi, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at Baptist Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. She was born Monday, May 8, 1933, in Gibson, North Carolina.

A private family visitation will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with a private funeral service to be held at 12:00 p.m. at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee, Mississippi.

The burial will follow in Calvary Presbyterian Cemetery. Bro. Floyd Steverson will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. (601) 849-5031

Mrs. Austin was a member of Southside Assembly of God in Jackson, MS.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.

She was preceded in death by husband, Clinton Paul Austin; parents, Ed Jacobs and Delia Jacobs; and one daughter, Susan Furr.

Survivors include five children, Kenneth Austin and wife, Sandra of Lakeland, FL, Dean Austin and wife, Candice of Clinton, Vickie Johnson and husband, Rusty of Pearl, Mary Ann Lewis and husband Johnny Vanderford of Pearl, Paula Lynn Thomas and husband Lloyd of Brandon; fifteen grandchildren, Walter Johnson (Erin), Nicole Simpson (Austin), Russ Johnson, Shelly McCamon (Jeremy), Clint Austin, Archie Austin, Emily Austin, Jacob Austin, Garrett Austin, Stephen Austin, Veronica Austin, Marshall Austin, Tiffany Arnold (Daniel), Myranda Roberts, and Christy Roberts; twenty-three great-grandchildren; one brother, Cleveland Jacobs; and a host of other family members.

Pallbearers will be Clint Austin, Archie Austin, Jacob Austin, Stephen Austin, Walter Johnson, and Daniel Arnold.
