Vera Annette Abernathy Kelly
(8/21/1948 – 6/6/2024)
Vera Annette Abernathy Kelly was born on Friday, August 21,1948 to the parents of Bill and Myrtle Abernathy and passed away June 6, 2024.
A loving mother and homemaker, Nett was a great cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family, especially sweets. She would always have an egg custard or pound cake cooked and ready to share with anyone that stopped by.
She loved being outside and working in her yard and flower beds. She had a green thumb and there were always beautiful flowers blooming in her yard.
Nett loved her family and made a point of telling them that she loved and appreciated them as often as possible. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she enjoyed spending time with them as they grew up and loved them fiercely. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Above all, Nett’s life was defined by her love of Christ and devotion to her family and her church. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and attended there all her life.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 9 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Hwy 28 West and from 10:00 to 11:00 am on June 10.
