US Army Staff Sergeant, Garlando Johnson speaks to Simpson County Technical Center Law & Public Safety students on November 13, 2020. While the military may not be for everyone, the chance to explore the opportunities is something each student should have available to them. Staff Sergeant Johnson spoke about careers in the military and the benefits one receives today from those experiences. Some interesting facts: most people do not know that the U.S. Army is the largest provider of scholarships in the country and the second largest employer in the world. There are over 150 career choices and 99% of jobs have a civilian application. Almost 7000 soldiers received degrees last year while serving. Students enjoyed the presentation and appreciated the time Sgt. Johnson gave them to learn about the army as a career choice to consider.
