On Wednesday, May 8, 2024, the Simpson County School District Board
of Education decided to relocate 7th and 8th grade students from Mendenhall Junior High School to
the Mendenhall High School campus. Additionally, 6th grade students from Mendenhall Junior High
School will be relocated to Mendenhall Elementary School. This change will go into effect starting with
the 2024-2025 school year on an interim basis.

I disagree with thos choice I can Not
Believe parents do not get a say on this matter however it doesn’t affect their children so the school board does what they want too

If you’ve been in the Junior High buildings within the past few years, you would understand the move. The school is in disrepair and would cost more to renovate it than to completely rebuild. I don’t agree with the majority of decisions brought forth by the Simpson County School Board, but I would have to side with them on this one.
If there wasn’t a “hidden” agenda within most of their decisions, the Simpson County public would be more willing to agree with decisions made by the board.
Personally, I believe the members of the board should be completely replaced, as well as the decision to not be able to vote on a Superintendent. The residents of the county should be able to make the decision on who will be over their children. That was a blow to all of Simpson County residents and should be repealed.
