I cannot believe only 731 people in our city voted in the election! That is shameful! What a gift we have as Americans to be able to vote. Every election is important…just as the run-offs will be…if we can only get 731 people to vote when we’ve got lots of people on the ballot…what will the run-offs bring? We have 2,443 registered voters in Magee. I know voter-turnout was low in every city…but I just thought this election would be different.
Affidavit ballots (45) will be counted Wednesday morning beginning at 9 at City Hall. Counting of these ballots are slow and difficult. I don’t imagine we will have a full count until at least noon.

I can’t wait to see if the political signs “come up” as fast as they “went down!” Candidates are supposed to pick up all their signs (except candidates in a run off) Please if you have a political sign in your yard and the person is not in a run off election, pick up the sign. Let’s start our keeping Magee clean today!

Thank you to the people who cared enough to vote…you should be proud. Thank you to the men and women who cared enough about Magee to run for public office. I appreciate each and everyone who “fought the good fight.”….awesome bunch of candidates with so much potential for our city.
Thank you.
