Yvonne and David Layton have been married for 44 years!  According to daughter Melissa Shows,” if ya’ll want to see true love, look at my parents.”

Yvonne and David Layton

Yvonne and David were married in 1976 at the Mendenhall Church of God.  They have lived in Magee during their married live and raised 3 children:  Melanie Geiselbreth, Melissa Shows, and Bryan Layton.

They have a “daughter of the heart” Linda Adcox.

The 13 grandchildren are:  Amber and Garrett Robinson, Tucker Sobczak, Jonathan Adcox, Natalie Adcox, Kody Shows, Anna Grace Sobczak, Garrett Adcox, Allie Shows, Holden Sobczak, Shawn Allen, Cullen Layton, and Ayden Layton.

Their daughter Melissa Shows sums up their love,” If y’all want to see true love, look at my parents. They were so young when they started out, but here they are 44 years later and still loving like it’s new. They have been through a lot, and helped each other over life’s hurdles. They love each other and above all respect each other. You’ll never hear them cuss at each other. They don’t go to bed angry. They still cuddle and kiss like newlyweds. They’ll dance in the kitchen and they love with everything they have. Being around them, feeling that love, is like standing in the warm sunshine on a cold day. We were so blessed to grow up in a house of love, and I pray they have many more years of happiness.”

Happy 44th Anniversary to Yvonne and David Layton.
