Trojans win in a nail biter game agaist North Forrest Friday, August 25, 2017!

Captains for the Friday night’s game were #32, Chas Lofton and #76, Taylor McGuire. Lead teachers from Magee Schools served as Honorary Captains. They were as follows; Audarshia Flagg, Magee High School, Susan Walker, Magee Elementary, and Darla Huffman, Magee Elementary.

Trojans kicked off to North Forrest to start the game.

With 8:35 left in first quarter North Forrest will cross the goal line first. Two-point conversion was good. North Forrest would lead 8-0.

Penalties would play a large part in the first half of the game.

#73, Mac Anderson, would roll an ankle and leave game for a short period of time.

During second quarter with 9:34 left on clock, North Forrest fumbled on Magee 30 with #1, Jaden Chatman, recovering the ball. Magee was not able to capitalize on the fumble recovery and turned ball over on downs. Magee made a good stop on 4th and 3 on North Forrest’s 40-yard line to take over possession. #1, Jaden Chatman, for Magee scored on a 27-yard reverse with 3:56 left on clock. 2-point conversion was good by #22, Jermond Winn. Trojans tied game 8-8.

Second half Magee would throw an interception with 6:49 on the clock on their own 26-yard line. North Forrest would score shortly after on a 30-yard pass. 2-point conversion was good. North Forrest up 16-8.

#53, Kris Hayes, for the Trojans would go down with an injury. #2, Chandler Pittman, for the Trojans would score on a 51 yard run. An unsportsmen like flag after touchdown against Magee would make the 2-point conversion an 18-yard attempt, which was no good. Score 16-14 North Forrest.

Magee would attempt an onside kick, which was recovered by #13, Josh Sanders, for Magee on their own 46-yard line. Again, Magee was not able to capitalize on the onside kick.

North Forrest fumbled and was recovered by Magee around the 10-yard line with 6:43 left in regulation. #31, Sam Rials, kicked a 20-yard field goal to make it 17-16 Magee with 5:26 left in game. A Magee player would be ejected from game with an unsportsmen conduct giving North Forrest the ball on the 50-yard line.

North Forrest would fumble and #24, Steven Durr, from Magee would recover the ball and return it to the 25-yard line. #13, Josh Sanders, would score on a 33-yard touchdown run with 2:31 left in game. Extra Point for Magee good and Trojans lead by a score of 24-16. North Forrest would answer quickly with 1:26 left on the regulation. Two-point conversion good, game was tied at 24-24.

At the end of regulation game was tied, which forced overtime. North Forrest would get ball first and scored on first play. 2-point conversion was not good. North Forrest up by a score of 30-24.

Magee would get their chance in overtime. Trojans scored on a 10-yard pass to #1, Jaden Chatman, on first play. Extra point no good, game tied 30-30. Second overtime would start.

North Forrest again received ball first. After 4 attempts they were not successful in scoring. On third down Magee’s Quarterback #2, Chandler Pittman with score game winning touchdown. This would end play Magee Wins by a score of 36-30.

Not a pretty win but a “W” is a “W”. Trojans will enjoy win and get ready for their rival game against Mendenhall. Trojans will have to adjust and work on discipline this week.
