On August 24, 2017 at approximately 1730 hours, the home owner of 313 5th Avenue SE, (Eastside Community) came home and observed a male subject running away from her residence where she found that her house was being burglarized. Officers arrived on scene and immediately searched for the suspect (s) in the East Side community. Officers Ben Stephens and Ashton Thornton observed two subjects with one subject fitting the description of the suspect. Officers detained these two individuals and identified them. One was identified as Reggie Barker and the other one was a juvenile (16 years of age). Reggie Barker admitted that he was only the look out standing by the window of the residence that was broken into. The juvenile male admitted that he went into the residence. Officers transported them to the Magee Police Department. Reggie Barker was charged with burglary of a residence and his bond was set at $10,000.00. Barker appeared before Magee Municipal Court Judge Eugene Knight for his initial appearance and his preliminary hearing, where his bond was reduced to $5,000.00.

The juvenile report will be forward to Simpson County Youth Court.
