Friday the 13th is known for a day of bad luck! Bad luck would try and make a statement before game time.  Problems with finding an announcer for the football game and concession workers was challenging, but the Trojans would not let the superstition play part in the football game.

Magee won their first district football game Friday, October 13, 2017 at home against St. Andrew’s.

Magee received opening kick off and returned the ball to the 35-yard line. Magee quickly drove down the field. With 7:32 left in first quarter Magee crossed the plain first scoring on a 10 yard reverse. Point after attempt was good, and Magee led by a score of 7-0.  Saint Andrews fumbled the ball on the 2nd play of their possession. Magee took over on Saint Andrew’s 24-yard line. With 6:42 left on the clock in the first quarter Magee crossed goal line again on a 24-yard pass to #17. The point after was good to make the score 14-0. Saint Andrews scored on a 1-yard run. The point after attempt was no good and Magee would lead by a score of 16-6.
During second quarter Magee drove down the field and turn the ball over on downs on Saint Andrews 15-yard line. Saint Andrews would go for the end zone with seconds left on the clock for the first half and Magee would intercept the ball in the end zone to end the half.
Third quarter Saint Andrews drive down the field only to turn the ball over on downs on Magee’s 3-yard line. With 5:59 left on the clock in the third quarter Saint Andrews scored a safety. Saint Andrew’s made the score closer with Magee still leading by 14-8.
Fourth quarter Magee blocked the Saints punt and return the ball to Saint Andrews 5-yard line.  With 9:45 life in game Magee scored a field goal to increase lead to a score of 17-8. With 7:41 left in regulation Saint Andrew’s would score on a 2-yard line run. The point after attempt was good and the Saints would tighten the score to Magee 17-Sain Andrew’s 15. With 1:25 left in the game Magee sealed the deal with a 18-yard touchdown. The point after attempt was good and Magee won by a score of 24-15.
