Magee Trojans HS Varsity Grabs Lead In Fifth Inning For Victory Over Yazoo County

Trojans snagged a late lead in the 5th to defeat Yazoo County by a score of 18-7 on Friday. Magee was trailing entering the 5th inning by a score of 7-6 in the top of the fifth inning.  Banks Teater was up to bat and singled on a 3-2 count pitch, scoring two runs.

Adam May had a good night with four hits in five at bats. May tripled the first time at bat, doubled in the third inning, singled in the fifth inning, and tripled in the sixth inning to lead help lead Magee to victory.

Ty West was on the mound for Trojans.  The lefty allowed only three hits and seven runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out five. Brennon McNair in game to secure the win for the Trojans.

Magee tallied two home run on the evening by Brennon McNair. McNair’s homerun was in the first inning followed by one in the fifth inning.

Next game for the Trojans is Monday, March 29, 2021 at Ridgeland starting at 5:00 p.m. Magee will play again on Friday, April 2, 2021 at Sumrall against Oak Grove at 4:00 p.m. and Sumrall at 7:00 p.m.
