Magee Trojans opened the 2017 football season Friday, August 18, 2017, at home with a Victory!

Captains for the night were #73 Mac Anderson and #1 Jaden Chatman.

Jefferson County won the toss and chose to receive the ball.

With 8:18 left on the clock for the first half Jefferson County would score on a 5-yard pass. The two-point conversion was good and the Tigers were up 8-0.

After the kick off Magee would go three and out on their first possession.

Tigers fumbled on their second possession and #13 Josh Sanders for the Trojans would recover. Magee fumbled ball on first snap of possession on their own 37.

Magee would force Jefferson County to a punt. Magee fielded the punt and Jefferson County was called for catch interference and Magee took over on 20-yard line.

Starting the 2nd quarter Magee would go 3 and out. Jefferson County took over on Magee 42-yeard line. Magee would regain possession and #2 Chandler Pittman would show his athletic ability and drive the ball down the field. #22 Jermond Winn for Magee would score with :51 seconds left on the clock. Two-point conversion was good. Brooke May would kick off for the Trojans. At the end of the half score was tied 8-8.

Coaches made needed adjustments at half time and the second half would belong to the Trojans. Starting the third quarter Magee went three and out. Jefferson County got the ball and threw and interception.

With 5:35 left on the clock in the 3rd quarter Pittman would score on a 20-yard run around the right side. Two-point conversion was no good. Score was 14-8 Magee.

Entering the fourth quarter Magee picked up a fumble on their own 40-yard line and ran it back to the Jefferson County 4 yard line. With 6:25 on the clock #22 Jermond Winn would score for Magee on a 2 yard run. Two-point conversion was no good. Magee would seal the victory with a score of 20-8.

Magee will celebrate the win and then turn their focus on next week’s game against North Forrest at home. Game time is 7 pm.
