Magee Trojans played Bonneville in game 2 of the State Championship series at Trustmark Park Thursday, June 3, 2021 in front of a large crowd. Magee had a large following presence.

The Trojans lost the lead late in a 4-2 defeat to Booneville on Thursday. The game was tied at two with Booneville batting in the top of the seventh when Brennon McNair induced  Booneville to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.

Booneville opened up scoring in the first inning. With one man on base Booneville hit a homerun scoring two runs.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Magee Trojans HS Varsity came to life and tied things up at two when Banks Teater doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Magee had two outs and runners on the corner when Kaden Harper came up to bat. On a hit that looked like the sealer for the championship was caught for the last out of the ending.

 

McCoy was on the mound for Booneville. The bulldog allowed five hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out eight.

McNair was on the hill for Trojans. The righthander went seven innings, allowing four runs on seven hits and striking out four.

Teater led Magee with two hits in two at bats.

Magee will play Saturday in a must win sistutation. The game will take place at 1:00 p.m. Come out and support the Trojans as they try to bring the gold home.
