Game 1 Monday night was a must win for the Trojans to keep their playoff hopes a reality. The Trojans did just that with a win against Winona by a score of 5-0. The victory tied the series and forced game number 3 the same night.
Timon Kennedy toed the rubber for the Trojans. Everything went Kennedy’s way in a shut out victory. Kennedy pitched seven innings allowing one hit and zero runs, striking out seven, and allowing no walks.
Zack Teater and Brennon Mcnair both had multiple hits in the game.
Game 2 on the evening and third in the series started immediately after game 1. The Trojans were determined to win and continue their playoff quest.
Magee won by a score of 9-2 in the second game. A single by Brennon McNair in the first inning would score a run. The bats were hot for the Trojans in the second game of the evening.
Adam May was on the mound for the Trojans. May surrendered two runs and struck out seven batters over five innings.
Caden Bridges for the Trojans hit a home run in the sixth inning.
With the wins Monday night Trojans advance to the second round of the playoff’s. Magee will be at home Thursday, April 25, 2019 against Columbia. Game time is 6:30.
