Craft Seeks Re-Election Supervisor District 2

My name is Danny Craft and I am asking for your support to help re-elect me as your District 2 Supervisor. I am 56 years of age and have lived in Simpson County all my life; all but two of those years were in District 2. I will be running on the Republican Ballot.

I have been married to Jeannie Lisa Purser Craft for the past 39 years. We have two children, Dr. Jennifer Bain and her husband Jacob; and Kevin Craft and his wife Hollie. I have three grandsons which are the lights of my life. My parents are Betty Craft and the late Bronson Craft.

City Worship Night to Cap Off Mission Magee Week

July 13, 2026

I attend New Hope Baptist Church where I am a member, Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and serve on numerous committees. I always look to Christ for my decisions in life and I have always kept the Lord and family at the forefront.

I was employed as an electrician at Georgia Pacific Plywood in Taylorsville, Mississippi for 32 years before retiring to pursue other interest. During many of those years I had a second job as a Clarion Ledger paper delivery carrier which covered most of District 2. I owned poultry breeder houses for 26 years and a trucking company both businesses were very successful during their years in operation. Presently, I own a cattle farm and I am currently employed by you and serve you the people as your Supervisor in District 2. I learned at an early age that you have to work very hard to achieve success in life.

First, I would like to personally thank each of you for the honor and the privilege of serving District 2 as your supervisor. I stand on the same principles and the pledges now as I did during my campaign in 2015. As I always have, I want to continue to stay in touch with the citizens of District 2 and Simpson County. I have always kept an open door policy to be available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to listen to all your concerns and answer all your questions. I have always had my telephone number available to the public for anyone that needed me. I have tried to attend every meeting and event possible to provide information and listen to your concerns. I can safely say I have never neglected to talk to anyone who has contacted me and tried to help them in every way possible.

During my term thus far, it has been a true life experience. It has had its ups and downs, but I have tried to be the leader that you can trust. Just being able to help the citizens of District 2 and Simpson County in certain matters has been uplifting and I have been truly blessed.

I started my term with the approach that I was not going to be just a laid back supervisor. I have been consistent in all my decisions. I stood up and fought for what I believe will be best for Simpson County. I have been your voice fighting for things I felt were right and against things I felt were wrong. I have done this on every level of our local, state, and federal government. I have acquired many good relationships with our elected officials in the county and state and if re-elected this will be a crucial part in moving forward the next 4 years. Since I have been in office for nearly 4 years I would not have to start from square one or from scratch building these connections. From the start of a new term if re-elected it will be just like another day at the office and I can continue working hard helping the citizens of Simpson County. I have been an advocate for the citizens on all matters concerning bridge closures and funding. I have learned a lot about government during my term and if I don’t know the answer, I know where to go to get it.

Have I accomplished all my goals during my term thus far? No not all of them, I really wanted to see better improvements in our roads. But with the condition of the roads combined with the huge cost and lack of funding it has not been possible to get the road improvements as much as I would have hoped. I have taken the approach that if I can help the citizens with the resources we have and within the strict laws and guidelines we have to go by, then that’s what I have tried to do. I have done everything within my power to try and do this.

I do know that not everyone is or will be satisfied with my work and the decisions I have made for the county. But I am here to work hard and to serve every citizen of District 2. If you have had an issue with the way I have done things, please call me. I am here to serve all citizens of District 2 and maybe I can help or explain the process. I can’t solve every problem, but I am asking the citizens of District 2 to stay on board with me to continue to improve and make Simpson County a better place.

I am humbly asking you to please help re-elect me with your vote on August 6th to be your Supervisor for District 2 for 4 more years. Let’s keep moving forward! May God continue to bless you and Simpson County! My number is 601-382-8262. Thank you. Danny Craft.
