The SCEDF was organized in 1979 and has continually perused the best in marketing Simpson County.

The annual meeting was held at the Simpson County Country Club.  Following the welcome and invocation, the meal was served.

Brad White, Simpson County native and Executive Director of MDOT, was the featured speaker. Brad gave an informative overview of MDOT and the challenges faced.  Brad explained that to continue to receive federal funding for our highway projects certain criteria must be maintained by the State.  Stretching dollars is a continuing MDOT problem.  As the MDOT Executive Director, White has helped establish a positive working relationship with the MS Legislature.

Dr. Chad Miller, USM School of Economic Development, presented the five-year Strategic Plan for Simpson County (2024-2029).

 

 

 

 

 

 

Community Partner of the Year:  Magee Chamber of Commerce and Mendenhall Chamber of Commerce.

Carley Cockrell is the outgoing President.  Dylan Sanford is the 2024-2025 incoming President.
