Thursday morning, February 24, 2022, I was informed that a manhole in the swamp land in front of Walmart was clogged and over flowing with a “red” looking material.  Turns out, the red stuff is grease causing a back up in the City sewer system.  The “red creek” doesn’t stop at Walmart, the grease substance flows out of the City Limits.

Patrice and I took a video at the Siloan Road Bridge and the creek crossing below the bridge on Highway 49 South.

Charlie Valadie, City Fire Marshal, Tim Bray, head of the city works department, and Shane Steele, Deputy Fire Marshal were on scene to investigate.  DEQ has been called as well as the County Emergency director, John Kilpatrick.
