Thursday night, December 3, 2021, the Cougars traveled to McComb to take on the Parklane Pioneers. The JV Girls came in with a record of 11-0. The JV Boys came in with a record of 8-2. The Lady Cougars came in with a 7-7 record. Varsity Boys came in with a 7-1 record.
Lady Cougars Head Coach: Linda “ Legendary” Dear. Assistant Coaches: Chaucer Funchess, Brandi Giordano, and Josh McNulty.
The JV Girls took a successful win with the score of 37-24 and continued their undefeated record of 12-0. The MVP was #5 Jayda Smith. The team is looking to continued the undefeated season as they go to PCS in Hattiesburg on Saturday, December 4.
The Lady Cougars swept the Lady Pioneers with the score of 72-35 can improve their record to 8-7. #24 Olivia Banes scored 18 points to help the Lady Cougars with the Victory. The Cougars are looking to continued improving as they will go to PCS located in Hattiesburg on Saturday, December 4.

When the Parklane JV Boys though they had the Cougars out, the JV Boys were not going down without a fight. JV Boys defense, and some free throws by #15 Stone Crain, got the Cougars back in the game with down by three points. Unfortunately, the JV Boys came just short with the score of 43-37. They are looking to bounce back for the winning side by going to PCS Saturday, December 4.
The Varsity Boys was down by 19 points ,but with some made shots and defensive rebounds got them going into halftime down by 8 point. But the Pioneers was continuing to show their dominance in the third quarter. The Cougars kept fighting until the end but just came short with a 59-47 defeat. They are looking to get back on the winning tracks as the Crain Train heads to PCS Saturday, December 4.
Congratulation again to the JV Girls and Lady Cougars on their victory. Come out and support the Cougars as they travel to PCS in Hattiesburg. Good Luck to Simpson Basketball and the coaches.
