The Scriptural passage selected for today is found in Galatians 5:22-23: “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things, there is no law.” The early Christians at the church of Galatia are here being told of attributes they should strive to exercise, not only among the membership, but also in dealing with others. It certainly applies to us all these centuries later. Each day, I end my little devotional by encouraging us to share and spread love, joy, and kindness with all those with whom we come in contact. This is the Scripture on which I base that. All the gifts listed are very important, however. Let’s be diligent in making those gifts of the Spirit a natural part of each of us in our daily walk. Rate yourself. Patience and goodness are probably my weakest, but I’m constantly working on the two through prayer and the reading of God’s Word. As the old gospel song is entitled, “I Want To Walk As Close As I Possibly Can.” Amen!
Happy Thursday!
