Mississippi was well represented In Guntersville, Alabama in the Dixie Pre-Majors World Series. The team, coached by Chris Schuster and Marcus Graves went 6-1 in the tournament. Team Mississippi beat Southland, Louisiana twice to secure the World Series Championship title. Two of the players on the team have ties to Magee. Austin Russell, son of Harold Russell formerly from Magee, and Logan McGuire son of Jerry and Beth McGuire from Magee.
