Simpson County Board of Supervisors – July 15, 2025 Meeting Summary
The Simpson County Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 8:00 AM. This marked the first meeting under the new earlier start time.
Meeting Opening
Board President Danny Craft called the meeting to order. In the absence of Chancery Clerk Tim Gray, President Craft conducted the session. Thomas Warren opened with prayer, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Means of Grace Mission:
Thomas Calhoun addressed concerns raised at the July 7 meeting regarding resident monitoring and garbage pickup at the mission. He expressed a willingness to resolve any issues. The Board voted to classify the mission’s solid waste as a business account, allowing for increased garbage capacity. -

Voting Precinct Renaming:
At the request of Circuit Clerk Whitt Fortenberry, the Summerall Voting Precinct will now be called the Martinville Voting Precinct to eliminate longstanding confusion.-
Fortenberry also received approval to destroy files before 2018.

Copiah-Lincoln Community College Update:
Dr. Dwayne Middleton, Co-Lin President, presented updates on progress and needs, specifically for the Simpson County Branch. He reminded the Board that Simpson Co-Lin is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
