The perfect adjective to describe Stennis would be mischievous. He was always a prankster, picking, joking, and looking for a good laugh. All the people that have worked for him over the years, whether it be logging, building houses, or putting up metal buildings, can attest to this. During his time at Christian Praise and Worship, a good word to describe him would be loving, with a smile from ear to ear. He will be deeply missed by his family and all those who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert S. Powell, Sr.; mother, Siddie Boykin Powell; brothers, Singleton, Calvin, J.W., Winfred and Ulmer; sisters, Ola, Ouida, Vernice; son, Fenton Rush; and grandchild, Emanuel.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Lee Reeves Powell; sons, Frank Rush, Johnny Rush (Neasie), Terry Powell, Keith Luckey (Ruby) and Mark Luckey; daughters, Arrow Rush and Candace Powell; sister, Audry Euline (Joel); grandchildren, Nathan, Torrey, Melita, Breezy, David, Vincent, Brittany, John, Josh, Asher, Amber and Gracie; and a host of great, and great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Junior Bailey, Dabney Bailey, Keith Luckey, Terry Powell, Asher Powell, and Kenny Powell.

Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Powell, Frank Rush, Randy Bailey, Mark Luckey, and Josh Rush.

Special music will be performed by Twyla Chisolm and Danny Powell.
