By James Davis
The Scriptural passage for today is found in 1 Corinthians 15:58: “My dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” Amen! The apostle Paul was always anxious to encourage the early Christians by visiting and writing to tell them to keep the faith in Christ Jesus and not to falter by listening to false teachers. Many of those had infiltrated the congregations with doctrines and personal agendas contrary to the teachings of Jesus. The result was dissension and conflict. Let us remain firm in our Christians convictions and not listen to man. Study God’s Word, seek wisdom and discernment, and test the spirits. We are told to be still and listen and to wait upon the Lord. “Turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look full in His wonderful face. And the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.” The chorus of that beloved hymns is key for all Christians.
Happy Saturday.
