I’m just saying, if you have time, I think you should attend the called school board meeting at 7 o’clock at the county office.

Several local people will be presenting different ideas and “facts” about the location of the school.

Stan Bulger has done an outstanding job researching information concerning the elementary school location. Stanley (I’ve known him forever) is a Magee High School graduate…with deep roots in Magee. He lived away from the area for many years but chose to come back to Magee to “retire” (that’s a joke, he has something going all the time!). Stanley began attending school board meetings several months ago when the question of “where to build Magee Elementary” caused such a stir. Stanley has his own ideas…just as others do…but from what I understand several men and women in the county have discussed the situation and have their own views.

Personally, I like it when “other” people can give their opinion…bring info to the table…be willing to step up to the plate for our city and schools…but I thought we had already been through this for well over a year. I thought sweet Mrs. Perkins (school board member) said the school would be built on Chris Lane property (after months of meetings and studies). Over $26,000 has already been spent on the “testing” of the Chris Lane property…surveys…wet land studies…all that “pre” stuff.

I always wanted the school built in town by the high school and middle school…but according to certain restrictions…can’t be done…oh well, let’s move forward….mainly let’s “get on with it.”

I wouldn’t miss the meeting Monday night for anything! I can’t wait to see what “others” purpose and what can be done this late in the game, if anything.

I’ll give ya’ll a report on what I learn…just saying…should be interesting.justsaying
