One sign of Spring is baseball. The 2022 baseball season is underway.
Simpson Academy Cougars won a non-conference game in baseball at home against the Magee High School Trojans Saturday, February 12, 2022. The final score was 7-5.
Simpson scored first during the bottom of the 2nd inning. Cougars took a lead by a score of 1-0.
Magee answered quickly in the 3rd inning tying the ball game at 1-1. The Trojans continued to increase the lead with 4 additional runs in the fourth inning. Trojans led by a score of 5-1.
The Cougars responded in the bottom of the fifth inning scoring 6 runs. Cougars led by a score of 7-5. The Cougar defense would hold strong to finish the game and seal the win.
Next game for Simpson will be Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at Sylvia Bay. Magee will play Taylrosville in the West Jones Clinic Tuesday, February 15, 20222.
