Every year, I look forward to the Simpson County Wagon Train.  Although, I have covered the February wagon trail for years, I am still impressed by the love the participants have the journey. The Lord blessed the group Sunday with beautiful weather.  From the “port-a-potty wagon” to the Grub wagon, each rider has their own style!  The wagons are fabulous!  Yes, fabulous!  In 2022, I learned what fancy wagons looked like!

I loved seeing the children and teenagers ready to ride.  I think the youngest rider this year was 3 months! I know an 82 year old road but not sure he was the oldest.

What a great family time the wagon train allows.  Everyone has their own job to keep the train rolling.

Tommy Sullivan is the Wagon Master.  I think Tommy is a member of the elite club of organizers.  He rides in a white truck at the front of the train waving his orange flag. Jack Underwood is also a long time ridder.  (He always help me with wagon train info!)

One of my favorite parts is when the train begins their climb “up” 1-49,  A group of riders carrying  flags riding big fine horses will all most make you cry.  God bless America…the wagon train is the back bone of our country.

I’ve got some great videos posted.  Check them out!

The Wagon Train will camp in a field across from Boswell Sunday night and in D’Lo Monday night.  The ride takes 6 days.  The Simpson County Wagon train participates in the Dixie National parade.
