Health Science Students are members of HOSA-Future Health Professionals, a national career and technical student organization endorsed by the U.S. Department of Education and the Health Science Technology Education Division of ACTE. Mrs. Brenda White is the advisor for this organization.

Students visited the Helipad landing where critical care patients are transported to receive treatment. UMMC currently owns four helicopters with medical flight crews consisting of highly trained critical care nurses and paramedics. The UMMC neonatal transport team is the only neonatal flight team in Mississippi and works in close cooperation with the medical flight crew to quickly transport the smallest, ill babies to the only Level 4 neonatal intensive care unit in the state. AirCare allows the opportunity to help anyone – adult, pediatric and neonate – access specialized care.  Simpson County Tech Students visit helipad at UMMC
