Mendenhall High School and Magee High School gymnasiums will receive air conditioning systems according to an announcement made by Superintendent Greg Paes during the school board meeting Thursday, October 11, 2018.

A local business ordered air conditioning equipment they could not use and the Maintenance Department of the Simpson County School was able to purchase the excess equipment at a reduced price which led the way for the air conditioning of the Magee and Mendenhall gyms. The cost, which is budgeted in the maintenance fund, will run approximately $70,000. Installations are to start as soon as possible.

The board approved request from Magee High School to dispose of drop-out and withdrawal records from 1992-1993 and keep grade inserts. Approval was granted to Mendenhall Elementary to accept a $300.00 donation from Stanley Graves Plumbing to be used toward cafeteria fines. Pilgrim Rest Church gave a donation of $100.00 to cover unpaid lunches at Simpson Central and Mendenhall Junior High.
