Lena Mae “Lucy” Barrett, 85 of Magee, MS passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at her residence in Magee, MS. She was born Thursday, February 1, 1940 in Magee, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Dry Creek Baptist Church in Magee, Mississippi. Burial will follow in Dry Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Magee, Mississippi. Bro. Joe Metts will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Barrett;  father, James A Hosey;  mother, Lou Nell Everett Hosey;  brothers, John Henry  Hosey, Lee Hosey, JW Hosey, Tommy Hosey and Gayle Hosey;  sisters, Ann Moody, Fannie Vanderford and Betty Smith.

Survivors include her daughters, Pat Maddox (Preston) of Magee, MS, Kaye Herrington (Ricky) of Mendenhall, MS, Theresa “Terri” Dueitt (Philip) of Petal, MS and Sherry Anderson of Magee, MS;  grandchildren, Nathan Maddox, Amy Peoples (Ron), Rebecca Bible (Zach), Beth Herring (Jared), Erin Brewer, Anna Holifield (Justin), Phillip Anderson (Brittany), James Anderson (Sarah) and Chloe Goode;  brother, Bill Hosey (Susan);  great grandchildren, Cannon Maddox, Gavin Peoples, Clay Allen, Ethan Allen, Jacob Bible, Barrett Herring, Aurora Brewer, Mackinslee Holifield, Jaydon Anderson, Jestin Anderson and Maven Anderson.

Pallbearers will be Timothy Hosey, Chris Hosey, Anthony “Red” Hosey, Scott Vining, Blake Vining, and Mickey Eubanks.

Honorary pallbearers will be Byron Hosey, Dane Hosey, Allan Smith, and David Hosey.
