Second and third grade FLAG students visited the MS Museum of Natural Science to participate in a classroom presentation and experience that let them dissect owl pellets. This activity helped students learn more about owls and their diet. Presentations are correlated to the state science curriculum objectives and are both content and grade appropriate and feature hands-on activities including observation of live and mounted specimens. This field trip was paid for by the Conrad Castle Grant awarded to the class earlier this year.
