“The Secretary of State’s Office has launched a major push to sell tax-forfeited properties in Mississippi,” says Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann. “Bay St. Louis has begun a dramatic revitalization of its City. We hope to assist their recovery by selling tax forfeited properties in the area.”

“We appreciate Secretary Hosemann’s support of our desire to get these State held properties back to private ownership, available for development and on the community tax rolls,” says Bay St. Louis Mayor Les Fillingame. “We have great expectations of success and want to thank his office, in advance, for their tremendous unselfish effort in assisting us.”

Since 2012, the Secretary of State’s Office has taken historic steps to alleviate the tax forfeited epidemic in Mississippi. The Agency has partnered with Mississippi realtors to aggressively market tax forfeited properties in the State. The Secretary of State’s Office has also held several successful auctions in Greenville, Greenwood, Jackson, McComb and Meridian—raising over $1-Million for schools, cities and counties.

Sealed bids for tax forfeited properties in Bay St. Louis must be received by 5:00 pm, Wednesday, November 18, 2015 in the Secretary of State’s Office.
