Simpson Baseball advances to the semifinals of the MAIS Playoffs

Simpson played two games last week against East Rankin Academy in the MAIS Playoffs. Simpson won the series 2-0 and advanced to the semifinals of the MAIS Playoffs versus Washington School.

East Rankin Academy Game 1

Simpson 1 East Rankin 0-Getting hits for Simpson were Lawton Kennedy a single and Noah Magee a homerun and a RBI.
Pitching for Simpson were Caleb Garner 6 innings with 10 strikeouts and Noah Magee 1 inning with 3 strikeouts. The win improved Simpson’s record to 24-4 on the season.

Simpson 12 East Rankin 0-Getting hits for Simpson were Lawton Kennedy two doubles and 5 RBI’s, Caleb Garner a single and 2 RBI’s, Hooks Harvey a single, Bowen Kelly a single, Mason Kennedy a double and 2 RBI’s, Andrew Smith a single, and Noah Magee a RBI.
Pitching for Simpson was John Cole Giordano 5 innings with 6 strikeouts. The win improved Simpson’s record to 25-4 on the season.

Simpson will travel to Washington School in Greenville on Tuesday, May 7, for Game 1 of the MAIS Semifinals at 5:30 p.m. Simpson will host Washington School on Thursday, May 9, in game 2 of the semifinals of the MAIS AAAA DII playoffs at 4:00 p.m. and game 3 at 6:00 p.m. if necessary. If the Cougars win this series they will play the winner of the Hartfield Academy and Magnolia Heights School series next week for the State Championship.
