On December 28, 2002, James Williams III brutally murdered his father (James Williams Jr.) and his step-mother (Cynthia Lassiter Mangum Williams). He was sentenced to 2 life sentences without the possibility of parole. According to a new law, anyone under the age of 18 who commits a crime cannot be sentenced to life without parole. This change to the law now allows James to become eligible for parole since he was 17 at the time of the murders. My husband, Zeno Mangum, and family have been told for years there was no chance that he would get out. However, on Saturday, April 15, 2023, Brenda Lassiter, Cindy’s sister, received a letter in the mail stating James Williams III would be released tentatively on May 16, 2023. We desperately need your help to keep James in prison.

(Dena Mangum)

Please take time to sign the petition.  Such a sad situation.  MageeNews.com will interview Cindy’s son Zeno and Cindy’s sister Brenda on Monday, April 24, 2023 at 9:00 AM

Maybe have forgiveness in your heart and allow god to handle this man’s path as only god’s plan will take him where he needs to go. Don’t let yourself worry with the path he takes, just follow god down your path. Keep your faith, and keeping looking ahead, we can’t change the past, so reason to look back, follow the light that’s ahead of you, or get lost in the darkness behind you.

    Bill B.

If this man isn’t walking with god, Satan will find him. And Satan will spare no evil when taking his soul. Just pray he has changed, and asked for forgiveness. If he hasn’t, then this petition is even more meaningless then it is right now.

Pray people, god is real. And we are all going home soon.

I feel like if he did his time let him go know reason to hold a person lock up for life.the law change so let him out.ppl hold to much of a grudge that man been lock up since he was 17.or 18.its a shame ppl try and keep you in for life.once your sentence had run out
